As a business owner, if you have an employee injured on the job and you’re not a workers’ compensation subscriber at the time of that injury, your business may be in jeopardy.

The state of Texas essentially punishes those employers who decline to provide workers’ compensation protection to their employees. What this means for you in the event of an employee injury, is that the employee merely needs to show that they were performing job activities for which they were hired at the time the injury occurred.

In defending against these claims, you will incredibly limited in the defenses and arguments you are allowed to present to liability.

If you’re a business owner and have an employee who has suffered an on-the-job injury, please contact Klinck Law to discuss the how to defend against these claims.
